Body Image

Okay so maybe this is so dumb, i don't know, I'm sorry i'm weird. But you know how people say that back in the 50's, Marilyn Monroe wore like a size 10 and weighed 150 or something like that? my point to that estimation.. over time the acceptable body image has changed. that's not just my opinion, it has. Marilyn's curvy body of her time has been replaced by stick skinny, unhealthy looking models. and this is a topic that has always really interested me, it goes along with eating disorders and all that. but anyways, i found some cool stuff on this topic and think it's blog-sharring worthy.

Here's some interesting stats i found:
(i'm not making this crap up, i'm just copy and pasting from other sites... hahah)

  • 90% are women/girls
  • 8 out 10 women are not happy with their reflection
  • 80% of children are afraid of being fat

  • The average American model is 5' 11" and 117 pounds
  • In your lifetime 50,000 people will die as a direct result of their Eating Disorder

- 42% of elementary school students between the 1st and 3rd grades want to be thinner
- 80% of children who are ten years old are afraid of being fat
Calorie restriction and other diets are common:

or "always"
