Pattern Mixing

     Stay in the same color family. You want your patterns to have the same overall hue with certain colors found in each. Brown and orange plaid can work with a brown and orange floral design but will not work with pink and green roses.
   • 2
     Vary the pattern sizes. If your plaid happens to be large and loud, pair it with something that has a delicate pattern, like tiny roses with minuscule vines.
   • 3
     Play with polka dots. Polka dots are an easy choice to mix, since they are not bogged down with a lot of details and can mesh well with a variety of other patterns.
   • 4
     Make sure at least one item is tailored. Unless you want to end up looking like a giant drapery factory, choose a form-fitting blouse with a flowing skirt. Or go for a pencil skirt with a boxy top.
   • 5
     Accessorize. Patterns don’t have to be limited to tops and bottoms. You can mix more subtly with a scarf, shoes, hat or belt that plays on the patterns you’ve chosen.
   • 6
     Be scant with jewelry. Since your clothing is already making a bold statement, keep the jewelry simple and minimalistic. Do not wear giant baubles on top of two wild patterns or you could easily resemble a thrift store bin.

Boe-Hoe

Apparently.. boho is the thing to do right now. which is very convenient because i happen to love the boho/hippie/indie/grungy look... haha. sooo i did a tad bit of research on this and found some very interesting (at least to me) and inspiring information. so i have combined the supposively 4 basic types of boho with my own personal favorite pictures. via the copy and paste tool. i don't take credit for any of the brilliance written below.

 awww Vanessa... i love her. i love the oversized grungy button up with a belt look. classiccc. the hair? wonderful. dark, long, perfect layers, perfect wave. texture not too dirty and messy, but still has the beautiful unkept look i adore. the hat... well... i don't love itt. but her bag makes up for it.

 from left to right. nichole... as stated abovee, i have a new found passion for her. the next girl is emmy whatever.and i just kind of love her combo there. the short floral dress with the perfect denim vest.. a denim vest is a must have. i have one but it's not.. idk i just dont like it. haha with the chunky necklace? pefectly done my dear. maybe funner shoes.. but not bad. the next girl i cant tell who it is. and i honestly dont love the outfit. i think it's too much of the same color. and i dont like drop waisted belts very often.. and jessica. dear dear jessica. perfect simple outfit. beautiful.

 i did this picture in honor of boot-kick off season. which i think is right now.. haha.
jessica alba's outsit is GLORIOUS. the boots are kind of distressed/ gross looking but she works it. this has also inspired me to get brown tights. and look at her little baby... their outfits color coordinate with eachother. it doesnt get better than that. im not even going to comment on the rest of these outfits because i dont really especially like any of them. haha i just liked this picture for jess.

 mary kate rockin the flannel. the first picture with her shirt tucked in only on one side? i love. can i try it? haha and the big oversized dream leather bag... awwww. <3. that's the color of brown leather that i dream about. and then the last picture, flannel with a scarf. looks good here but i dont know how many people could realisticly pull this off.

1. Peasant Girl Boho-Chic

   • Peasant-girl boho-chic style is very feminine and dainty. It includes long, flowing skirts made of lightweight materials in soft colors. Headbands, hair clips adorned with flowers, clothing items made with lace and embroidery, peasant-style tops and floral patterns are all common. Long, messy, but clean hair is typical for those who adapt the peasant-girl boho-chic style.

   Rugged Boho-Chic

   • Rugged boho-chic style is a little more unpolished and unrefined. Well-worn and tattered denim shorts, pants or skirts are typical basis for dress in this style.    • Hippie boho-chic style borrows fashion trends from the 1970s for an artistic and unconventional look. Fringe, floppy hats, brightly colored skirts and wide-legged cotton pants are all commonly seen in this style. Vintage items are popular among this crowd of boho-chic style enthusiasts.

The Beauty School Run-Down.

They should not call beauty school beauty school. why? because it's not beautiful in any way. it might sound glamorous and easy and fun but it's definitely not. haircoloring is not easy. haircutting? is an art. it's not like there's only 4 different haircuts and everyone has one of the 4. noooo. there's 234879835789435 different haircutting methods and each person is completely diffferent. for anyone who says hairstyling is what stupid people do when they drop out of college, you're oblivious to the world. but back to beauty school, it's ridiculous. a half hour driving there, stressed out as can be. i do the assignment for the day. usually a perm wrap, a roller set or highlights. well that takes about 30 minutes tops. but i'm there for 4 hours. minus a half hour clean up... so that equals 3 hours left with nothing to do. usually i lay on the ground, spin in the spinny chairs, gossip, make fun of people, re-evaluate my life and plan how i'm gonna go home and exercise like a mad woman. or maybe look through magazines, talk with lauren and amanda about how life is gonna be so good in 5 years. and how me and lauren are going to drive to colorado in my uncle's porche for amanda's wedding in 3-5 years. and since we still have about 2 hours left in the beauty school day by this point, we get so bored that we start planning stupid details. like how the super long drive to colorado should be put to productuve use. such as, wearing a highlighting cap on our heads. whyy? well to keep out hair from blowing all over the place. and by pulling out small peices of hair from the cap, we can get natural highlights while we drive. and then if we drove in swim suits, bam. 10 hour tan. what's that called? productive multi-tasking. i think it's a subconcious effect of beauty school. while we sit there and do nothing for 3 hours, it inspires us to make proper use of the time we have once we get out of there. and i also decided, i would not have such a bad gossiping problem if i didn't sit there for 3 hours and have nothing better to do than gossip. i think i'm gonna need to find a productive cosmo hobby... maybe sneak in some dumbells and do bicep curls under my station after i'm done with the 30 minute assignment. sometimes we do crunches off the spinny chairs but that's difficult because all the blood rushes to your head and the floor is really hard if you end up slipping off... which hasn't happened yet, but i think risking the dumbells would be a lot better.

The Attractive Male Style Guide Summarized by Heidi Shields.

 It's just such a shame when potentially attractive males don't know how to dress decent, therefore decreasing their overall appearance. It's not that hard, men only have so many clothing options... But anyways, I have step by step laid out the basics of male clothing do's and don'ts.

 Do: Hoodies. Any color, zip up's are better. a basic hoodie is a necessity in every boy's closet. wear it with the hood up? well. the way i see it, hoods are possibly the most attractive invention on male clothing that ever existed. hoods up=definite fashion yes.

 quick note on hair. DO: fohawk. not too dramatic, just slight.

DO: messy, unkept-ness. added to the fohawk, veryy nice.

Do: layering. blazers with button up's under, fabulous if it can successfully be pulled off. cropped pants, also wonderful. these boots that are featured above? only in high fashion right now, if a high schooler was to wear these to school it would be interesting.. but i love them. look at that! it's nice.

 DO: plaid. rolled up sleeves? yes. plus aviator sunglasses.

DON'T: short sleeve button up. i don't know why, i just cant stand them. the only way this would be acceptable (in my opinion) is if the sleeves were rolled up once or twice. but this could be sketchy..

 DO: basic V necks and beanies.

 DO: plaid flannel, beanie, hood up, aviators. BAM. Zac Efron knows his stuff.

I added this one just because he's hot and i love vanessa. 

DO: converse. but careful, DONT lace them up all the way and make sure it's with the right jeans. not too skinny at the bottom, but def not so baggy that it covers them up, ya know? oh and leather jackets can be glorious as well.

DO: flat billed baseball caps. Justin here is wearing this perfectly, the rim needs to be up. pretty much as far up as it will go without falling off the head.

 DONT: over match. this example isn't tooo bad.. now if the shoes had black soles and laces and he was wearing a purple watch... too matchy matchy. not okay.

 DO: cardigans.

 DO: sorry it's blurry. henley's are good!

 ahhhh Zac Efron... <3 everything above is perfect. the grunge look is fabulous.

okay dont judge this. yes, the jeans are a little too tight and he looks slightly fruity. i just like the hair, sweater, blazer combo.

now this.... looks like a girl. haha i just like the hair/beanie. and the rest of the outfit if it was a girll..

Well. this concludes our style guide of acceptable male clothing. i hope you learned a little bit of how Heidi Shields' brain works. don't judge me if you think it's just toooo weird... i like weird. and grungy. i LOVE grungy.
